Custom Leather Coasters: The Small Detail That Elevates the Whole Table
There's a lot that happens behind the scenes at Left Grain that never makes it to the front of the shop, and custom leather coasters are one of our favorites.
They're small. They're practical. And they've quietly become a highly requested item we make for weddings, corporate events, and personal gifts alike.
Why Coasters?
Every event, home, or office has a table that needs setting. A coaster is one of the few products that gets picked up, used, and looked regularly which makes it a surprisingly powerful way to put a design, a name, or a logo in front of someone without it feeling like a giveaway.
We make ours from real, vegetable-tanned leather. They are hand-dyed and finished in our Noblesville studio. No two hides are identical, so no two sets are either. That's not a flaw to work around; it's part of what makes them feel considered rather than mass-produced.
How We Make Them
Every coaster starts with the design element. We work with you (or design in-house) to lay out a logo, monogram, date, or custom text, then engrave and finish each piece by hand in small batches.
That process — design, engrave, dye, finish — is the same one we use across everything in the studio, whether it's a run of 500 hat patches or a set of 20 coasters for a rehearsal dinner. Small-batch doesn't mean small effort.
Where They Show Up
Weddings — Coasters are an easy way to fold a couple's initials, wedding date, or a custom design into the reception. They also make a genuinely useful favor guests keep, instead of one that ends up in a junk drawer.
Corporate & Recognition Gifts — A logo doesn't have to look like a logo. Engraved into leather, it reads as intentional and the kind of gift that signals a company put thought into it, not just a budget.
